Errata

The following items in the initial printing of the text are in error:

  • page 20: The term "spectral width" should read "spectrum width" in several locations in the paragraph of the same title.

  • page 72: Equation (5-21) is not the correct equation for wet bulb potential temperature.

  • page 78: The expression for the moist adiabatic lapse rate in the left column should be 0.007 + 0.003 K m-1

  • page 84: The terms on the right-hand-side of Equation (5-31) are reversed. The equation should be:

    S = Ta500 - Tl500

  • page 166, Figure 10-1: The caption identifies (c) as a "cold high". It should be a "cold low".
